CCSR Annual Picnic Sunday August 1/ Message from Jan Kohn:
HI, CCSR friends! Just a reminder that you have signed up for the church picnic this Sunday, August 1 beginning at 4 PM at the SR beach. We will be near the children’s playground and have reserved the BBQ grills. Hot dogs, hamburgers, and chips as well as lemonade and iced tea will be furnished! Bring whatever else you might like to eat and drink! People whose last name begins with A-M are asked to bring a dessert to share. People with last names N-Z please bring a salad, side dish or appetizer to share. We are expecting over 50 people so this should be lots of fun!! Please come prepared to share a picture or memory with the Ketchums in their memory book. This will be available at church on Sunday morning and also at the picnic. It will be great for them to take this and have something to remember their 10+ years with us! Thanks to the many volunteers who agreed to help! Paul will take charge at the grill with Valerie assisting! Ralph and Nancy have volunteered to help set up! Jeanne, Lois and Bob have volunteered for clean up! Joyce and Laurie are doing the shopping! With so many faithful servants we are bound to be a huge success!! Thanks to all!! See you at church followed by a fun time at the beach! ***Please bring chairs for your group! Questions or problems do call: Jan 973-492-2938
Please welcome Michael Droege... our new Youth Director!
As you will see in the article below, CCSR by the Numbers, CCSR is thriving. With the addition of Michael Droege, your Council believes all pieces needed to build a healthy and vibrant CCSR are now in place.
"When Michael Droege was a teenager he was befriended by a man who lovedJesus and believed in him and gave him the tools he needed to find his strengths. That experience changed his life and has shaped how he has approached caring about people for the last 20 years. From receiving his theology degree from Moody to his experience as a youth pastor, para-church ministry director, youth ministry consultant, or raising three boys, one thing remains true; ministry is still about loving Jesus, believing in people, and helping them get where they were designed to go. This season of ministry at CCSR will be about learning to fall more in love with Jesus, see each other clearly, and discover where God has called all of us in this great work he has give to us."
You'll be pleased to know that Michael had a strong calling to join us at CCSR, much like Pastor Brad and Patti. This is a new chapter for CCSR youth. Please join in and spread the word that inspired events for our youth are coming soon. You can reach Michael at michael@ccsrnj.org. ___________________________________________________________-
