Like A Good Neighbor…

Spring Sermon Series

Fill in the blank: “Like a good neighbor, State Farm is _____?____!”  The largest provider of auto insurance in the United States claims they have “been there” since 1922, but what about you & me? Our greatest calling as Christians is to love our neighbor (as much as we love ourselves), so how are we doing at “being there” in our neighborhood and community?

Sleep Out at The Community Church!

Sleep Out is a 14-hour opportunity for participants to experience some of the real struggles of those who are facing houselessness. Individuals, couples, and families are invited to grab a cardboard box and a sleeping bag and set up a makeshift shelter in our church parking lot for the night. There will be hot chocolate, a fire pit, and church facilities will be available. This event is open to individuals, couples, and families. Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Additional security will be provided for the event. There is no cost to participate, but the suggested donation items will be adult men’s winter hats, gloves, scarves, underwear, and socks to be given to our Morris County ministry partner... Market Street Mission. The Mission has been serving men struggling with houselessness, poverty, and addiction in Morristown, NJ, since 1889. Our sleepout will culminate with a pancake breakfast right before our 10:00 am Sunday service together.

End of Sermon Series Pancake Breakfast!

As part of the culmination of The Community Church’s "Like A Good Neighbor” spring sermon series, we are hosting a Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, May 7 at 8:30 am. Our honored guests at the breakfast will be men currently enrolled in the life-changing restorative programs available at the Market Street Mission. The Mission has been serving men struggling with houselessness, poverty, and addiction in Morristown, NJ, since 1889.

After sharing a family-style pancake breakfast together, we all will head upstairs for our 10:00 am church service. There is no cost for the event, but the suggested donation items will be adult men’s winter hats, gloves, scarves, underwear, and socks to be given to the Market Street Mission in preparation for this winter.
